How PPP2 works

Teaching

PPP2 includes six sessions (2 hours each) of live teaching via Zoom with a PPP4 qualified PARS Licensed Trainer. The course materials include handouts, workbooks and a course handbook which you will use to help you complete your assessments.

Practice

During the PPP2 course you will be asked to try out some of the PARS model whilst supervising children in your setting. You will not be assessed in your workplace.

Assessment

Your assessments are completed through case studies and multiple choice texts which are provided online. You will receive feedback from your dedicated PARS assessor and supported throughout the assessment process.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to attend previous PARS training before I join PPP2?

No, there is no requirement for previous PARS training or playwork experience before joining a PPP2 programme.

Will I need to do homework on PPP2?

Yes, afraid so! PPP2 is a NCFE accredited Customised Qualification, so all participants need to do weekly assignments during the course to demonstrate how they can put PARS playwork into practice when working with children. These assignments are assessed by our Assessment Team who will give feedback on each assignment.

How long does PPP2 take?

PPP2 is taught online over 6 weeks in two hour sessions. In addition there are another 13 TQT (Total Qualification Time) hours in which you will need to do private study, apply PARS in your settings and complete your assessments.

What is included in the cost of the course?

The cost for PPP2 includes all live teaching sessions and course materials, assessment and certificate from NCFE. There is nothing else you will need to pay once you have joined the course!

Once I get my PPP2 qualification, can I teach others to use PARS?

No. To teach PARS to others, you must be qualified to PPP4 and be a PARS Licensed Trainer. For more information on how to join the international PARS training team, please get in touch!

How long does my PPP2 Customised Qualification last?

Technically there is no expiry date for your NCFE certificate. However, we strongly encourage you to continuously develop your PARS playwork practice and you can find plenty of opportunities to do so here!
My staff really benefit from having the PARS framework which helps them not only to describe their playwork practice, but also to make those playwork decisions in the first place. We now have a model which helps us to describe our practice in a professional way without having to resort to programming activities to demonstrate that we are professionals who know what we are doing.
